New York, NY - My Pet Ram is pleased to present Club Hell featuring new work by Nick Irzyk and Nicholas Sullivan.
Irzyk’s paintings are typified by a grid painted as monolithic spherical structures or infinite landscapes with defined horizon lines. The systems never fully complete themselves, as one is unable to fully see in or outside of the network. The architecture of the paintings are constructed using a mono-printing technique resembling carbon copying, each cell of the patchwork grids are treated as their own composition, equalizing the parts and the whole.
Sullivan's new body of work consists of hanging ceramic forms, faced with paper and stuck with cast rubber plugs. This form behaves as a flower and artillery from each orientation. As these objects populate the space they operate as a field or battalion.
